At TIMS, children don't first meet English as a school subject. The language is a natural part of their kindergarten day – while playing, during Montessori work, at mealtimes, in morning circle, when singing and discovering together.

Children don't learn English from a textbook here, but in real life. Through music, stories, play, conversation and everyday situations, a natural feel for the language emerges – age-appropriate, playful and entirely without pressure.
Our immersion concept
Young children learn language differently from adults. They need no grammar rules and no vocabulary lists. They learn by listening, observing, imitating, trying things out and connecting words with real situations.
The whole day is shaped in English: at greeting time and in morning circle, during Montessori work, through songs, rhymes and stories, at mealtimes, while playing in the garden and on outings. Children may first listen and observe – they don't have to speak straight away.
At home, German or another family language remains the familiar foundation. This clear split is easy for children to understand:
German at home – English at kindergarten.
TIMS is not a classic 50/50 setting. Daily group life is English-speaking, and German is supported once a week in addition. We promise no forced bilingualism and no guaranteed career advantages – but a safe, international environment without performance pressure.
An early start
The earlier children meet a language in natural situations, the more familiar it can feel to them. As toddlers, children learn especially strongly through relationships, repetition and daily routines – first through understanding, with active speaking following later.

TIMS accompanies children from early toddlerhood to the transition to school. Rooms, materials and daily routines are adapted to each stage of development.

Three mixed-age Montessori groups in which children learn from one another, make friends and grow independently.
We give children the space to do things themselves. They choose their work, work with concrete materials and develop concentration and a joy of learning. In this way independence, responsibility and strong self-confidence grow.
The English language is connected directly with objects, movements and actions – understanding comes before active speaking, and every child is given time for its own individual learning path.

So far, no day of care has had to be cancelled at short notice due to internal organisational or staffing shortages. Only exceptional events beyond our control – such as extreme weather or official orders – could make a temporary closure necessary.
TIMS is located in Oberursel, only about a two-minute walk from the S-Bahn stop. The S5 line offers a direct connection to Frankfurt.

For over 50 years, TIMS has accompanied families from Oberursel, Frankfurt and the Taunus. Over the decades, an international Montessori community has grown in which children can develop linguistically, socially, emotionally and culturally.
TIMS is not a classic 50/50 bilingual setting. Daily group life is English-speaking. German is taught in addition once a week by a German-speaking teacher and remains the family language at home for many children.
Daily communication between the teachers and the children takes place in English. In addition, the children receive weekly German lessons.
No. Children can start without any English. They are gently introduced to the language through routines, gestures, songs, stories, play and personal relationships.
Children do not have to understand or speak every word straight away. Through recurring routines, gestures, materials and concrete situations they work out the meaning step by step – each child at its own pace.
For German-speaking families, German usually remains the central language at home and in the wider community. In addition, children at TIMS receive weekly German lessons.
No. Parents do not have to speak English at home. For many families the home language stays the same, while their child experiences an intensive English environment at TIMS.
Yes. Many German-speaking parents deliberately choose the English-speaking environment so that their child gains an early, natural access to English.
Early contact with English can help children experience the sound of the language, common words and simple communication as familiar. However, this does not guarantee particular school grades.
Yes. The decision about the later school lies with the family. TIMS fosters independence, communication, concentration, self-regulation and a love of learning – skills that are valuable for many different school paths.
A familiar English-speaking environment can help children meet a later international setting with greater confidence. How smoothly a transition goes always depends on the individual situation.
TIMS accepts children from 12 months. The Toddler Group is for children aged 12 to 36 months. Afterwards children move into the mixed-age kindergarten groups for 3- to 6-year-olds.
Starting during the year is generally possible, provided a suitable place is available.
Yes. TIMS places great value on stable routines. So far, no day of care has had to be cancelled due to internal organisational or staffing shortages – apart from exceptional events such as extreme weather or official orders.
TIMS is currently open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 8:00 to 16:30. An extension of the care hours is planned – please ask about the current status.

Yes. Families can arrange a personal visit, get to know the Montessori rooms and outdoor areas, and ask questions about the language environment, settling-in, availability and admission.
